Easy, compare the number and progress of clients between PT.

those with cert only, those with body only, those with knowledge only or a combination of 2 or 3.

who win? those with 3 win. look at ah jon.

those with knowledge? you need to show it, at least your clients must show it or everyone keep recommending you then can.

those with body? can get clients, then slowly clients keep wondering why they dont have result in the long run.

those with cert? hmmmmm, chao chao some progress in short to mid run.. at least.

Seriously I don't understand the concept of 'looks don't matter'. Why not have both the knowledge AND the appearance?

By the way, with the rapid advances in new media technology and ideas, marketing via social networking is becoming very, very useful.

It's just not my training goal.

But anyway, am i not projecting the image of "lift heavy weights, but you won't grow big muscles" to the ladies? :ANAL:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to compare you to me. We're in different sports. My point is that KB lifting is more about strength endurance than pure brute strength. In your previous link, the winner only deadlifts 110kg and benches like 60kg, which is probably not even out of the "beginner" stage yet. So, you shouldn't even be marketing it as a program to build strength, because it doesn't(not much anyway), and there are definitely better/faster ways of building brute strength. Instead, market your program at what it does better - mobility, flexibility, body-awareness, joint health, endurance, fat loss, etc. Once you build this niche, people won't question why you're not big. They'll understand that it's just the nature of the sport - KB lifters aren't big/strong, but they're really really good at all that other good stuff.

That is, of course, if you want to continue building this niche. If you're looking to get a job at a gym, then it's going to be an uphill battle continuing since you can't even find KBs in most gyms now, heck most people can't tell the difference between a barbell and a dumbbell, much less know what a KB is!

What is strength? Most people can't even lift the 24kg overhead. There are even personal trainers who tell me that 16kg is heavy.

Technique = efficiency = strength = endurance. Or maybe it is not equal but technique -> efficiency -> strength -> endurance. Of course the average guy equate size with strength.

Anyway i am looking at working outside just to make money, not to push kb. I know, no point. In my own small way, i can talk to clients about the real stuff about fitness.

Let's not get evangelical and overly technical. You and I both know that comparing yourself to "most people" and "most trainers" isn't really meaningful, neither are their own definitions of "strength". I'm not here to argue this.

I don't see why kb lifters won't get big/strong.
mahler has a training dvd called 'kb for strength and size' (or something like that).
(and he does look pretty big to me)

seems to me it just comes down to how you use the tool.

Could you tell me what is the "most people"s definition of strength? I really have no idea.

Press BW?

Deadlift 3xBW?

Squat 3xBW?

Or 15lb curl?

I wouldn't know, I'm not "most people". But I'd say much lower than the 1st 3 you mentioned. Probably closer to the 4th

strong??

i think anything more than 2 plate for front squat is bloody strong.

I also think strict pressing your bodyweight for 4 to 6 reps is bloody strong.

Pressing a 32kg KB overhead for reps is also mighty strong.
