after 3 years of living overseas and isolated more or less, i find that my desire to train has dwindled alot. apart from the wierd time of sunset to the changing of seasons, it has been a real challenge even to stay focus on the training discipline.
with the lack of good goals these day and the demand of my IT consulting work, i really have slacked off. power rack in my garage is rusting away...
no more desire to train
Re: no more desire to train
it's normal without motivation. what's the purpose of being so strong?

i got asked that question before.. didn't know how to answer at that time.. but i guess i just don't wanna be weak.lips wrote:what's the purpose of being so strong?
Squats can only strengthen, tear or break something. Strengthening, tearing and breaking is totally awesome. Thus squats are awesome.

Enjoy life, treat training as play. Don't keep seeking attributes (strength, endurance, mobility etc). Seek movement sophistication. Your nervous system craves novelty. It is fun.
And this are a demonstration of sophistication and attributes together:

if a person asks what's the purpose of being strong, return the question: what's the purpose of being weak?

To be perfectly honest, these are your problems. With clear goals and/or social commitments, no matter how how busy you are, you'd be able to find the time and the will to workout.fishbuff wrote:after 3 years of ... isolated more or less ... with the lack of good goals
I can't remember where you moved to, was it Brisbane?
You need to find some way to motivate yourself. A training log is one thing, social interaction another. You can't find a hobby that also directly/indirectly requires you to be strong? In oz, surely there are lots of opportunities.
