hey guys, how's everybody doing?

Post by vicvic »

Haven't been here for a bit and I'm wondering how's everyone getting on with life.

Basically for me I've ORD-ed 3.5 mths ago. Been doing free-lance PT-ing for some friends and going through books, DVDs and stuff to improve my skill set. Also been bumming around for a bit but going to look for a part time job to feed myself while setting up my own PT stuffs.

How about you guys?

Life goes on.

I'm waiting for the next GE!

Starting school again soon while I'm still working, trading, trying to train at least once a week.

for me...

Hmm... a bit too pre-occupied with school. Even though it is damn trying, both mentally and physically, it gives me a great sense of satisfaction when my charges develop as student leaders and generally develop in character.

Well, I am still in charge of the rugby team, and at the same time I am in charge of character development (camps, workshops, mass activites, etc) for the school. Been cycling lots and running lots.. Still doing 300 pull-ups and 300 dips everyday.

eh, i'm heading to aust in april for studies. sydney.

as most on fb should know if you read my status update, i'm figuring out a way for squats as the gym doesn't have a squat rack.

don't tell me about an oustide gym, my campus is a mountain hideout.

which campus? kind of strange that a uni gym doesn't have a decent set of bars. Unless it's a private institution, in which case it has plenty of money to buy 20 treadmills and an adductor/abductor machine. But no BBs...

And yes, echo the clean to front squat. I have to do that when I'm overseas and lucky enough to find a bar in some hotel gym. Heaviest I've ever gone was about ~80kg (too lazy to look up my log) at Disneyworld (Swan&Dolphin), and that was a power clean (since I had no idea how to do a proper clean aka squat clean in those days; probably still don't).

And I'm sure you can do far, far better than that measly 80kg.

blue mountains hotel school. well, now that i know that they don't have a squat rack, im only worried they don't have a barbell either.

anyway, if you guys noticed, my strength numbers are stagnant at the moment. reason being i'm playing the rugby season, a final one, before i go. as i'm unsure whether i'll continue playing down under.

with the state of my current conditioning, i'm really good to go a full match, full steam 80mins. and it has contributed to my being the top scorer in the competition at the moment. which makes me really happy going into it.

my only fear is not being able to squat (even though i know most of the variations) over there. that would really suck.

considering this is OZ, then you should have no problems buying a BB set with stacks of weight (as opposed to the exorbitant prices in SG). Or finding someone's garage gym in the area that already has a elitefts type setup.

I used to bike, hike and mountain climb in that "freaking mountain"... you'd be surprised how accessible things are (assuming you bike/ride/drive; if not, public transport ain't that bad).
