Pork kidney
Pork kidney
(sorry to our muslim brothers for dis thread)
i know everybody loves their beef around here. i have always tried consuming lean pork during off season to add more variety then juz plain ol' chicken. how would pork liver fare as a source of red meat? i have been consuming it recently by switching 1 chicken meal to 200g lean pork and 200g liver, it is very cheap as well.
100g yields 21g protein, 2g of carbs and 4g of fat.
This food is a good source of Thiamin and Manganese, and a very good source of Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Phosphorus, Zinc, Copper and Selenium. much alot like beef in this aspect.
however it is quite inflammatory and is very high in cholesterol
any thoughts?

Re: Pork kidney
I know some would consider pork to be "dirty" and high in toxins since they are scavenger creatures. However, I don't think it's that bad an idea to include them in a diet if you're also eating other kinds of meat. I enjoy pork once in a while though my staples are still beef and chicken.
Re: Pork kidney
is it a fact that they are high in toxins goi? im unsure about this.

Re: Pork kidney
I never like such tasting innards.
Too tenderloin taste for me that somehow doesn't really sit well with my taste buds.
But food is food, eat it enjoy it and die loving it =)

Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.-Dan John

Squats can only strengthen, tear or break something. Strengthening, tearing and breaking is totally awesome. Thus squats are awesome.

Um, not sure about Guan Yin worshippers, but when I went to India, bison meat was quite common and eaten by the practicing Hindus.

Re: Pork kidney
Stay away from pig intestines.
I used to love that stuff.
Till I found out how some unscrupulous "butchers" process it with the aid of china workers.
They pour a mixture of bleach and detergent powder through the intestines to wash the insides.

Re: Pork kidney
bison meat is a good sub for beef or lamb.
but, its usually leaner, so be wary when cooking it.
