Henry, you sure that's right?!
That's so far off the chart that it would need star charts to help it find its way back
At any rate, irregardless of whether or not its "right", take care of your health

Re: Just have a cholesterol check..
low carb high fat should lower your TG instead of increasing it man. well speaking from experience my LDL shot up a lot but my TG was very low.

Re: Just have a cholesterol check..
Just took my yearly health screen, and things have changed quite a bit compared to my previously stable levels
The good news:
- Total cholesterol dropped(I'm not too concerned about this as it's a weak health marker and my levels were never high to begin with)
- LDL levels dropped(slightly better news, but given my low triglyceride levels I was never worried about this either)
- Triglyceride levels are at their lowest ever(not much difference but at least it didn't go up, and my triglyceride levels have always been ridiculously low)
- Homocysteine levels are ok(could probably better though)
- Pretty good Vit D levels(health authorities recommends >30, Poliquin recommends 80-100. Guess the 5000mg Vit D3 everyday is working)
The bad news:
- HDL levels plummeted. They've always been borderline low, but now they're ridiculously low. Definitely something to look at and improve
- Weight plummeted. Mainly due to not eating well/enough, falling really sick(just finished my course of antibiotics when I took the health screen) and stress levels. Really need to gain the weight back if I wanna stay competitive in the 77kg weight class!
Dietary/lifestyle changes that I can remember(yes this is self reported so no it's not 100% accurate):
- I got less sleep between Jun 09 and Jun 10
- I ate more carbs
- I ate less protein
- I ate more "dirty"
- I ate less overall
- I ate less nuts(used to be abt a handful a day, now a handful every 2-4 days)
- I ate less eggs, about 3/day compared to 6+)
- A LOT less metcon work. Need to restart 300 again?
- Was pretty sick right before the health screen, so not sure if that affects anything

Re: Just have a cholesterol check..
I don't have the exact results of my last health screen, but apparently my cholesterol levels were marked as slightly high (I think 220+ or somesuch). No breakdown of HDL/LDL, so I basically ignored it... my bad.
Your HDL of <40 is a bit of a cause for concern (I think normal is 40-50? and 60+ is "good" for health?)... wonder why. Maybe you should retake again in a month's time.

Re: Just have a cholesterol check..
Maybe I'm taking too much zinc...was taking 60mg/d for quite a while, but reduced it to 30mg/d some time ago. There seems to be quite a bit of literature showing that too much zinc reduces HDL levels, like this and this.
Or not enough Magnesium/CoQ10/fish oil/ginseng.
Just going through the list of supplements I take that have an effect on HDL...

Re: Just have a cholesterol check..
Maybe you already do, but if not, perhaps you should consider cycling your supplements?
About the only things I take regularly are whey protein and fish oil (and even then sometimes higher/lower dosage, and different brands if I can source them of good quality), everything else is cycled (rhodiola, zma, superfoods, glucosamine/chondroitin, multi-vits, probiotics etc).
