QB food grass striploin was 18.50 yesterday when I bought it. It's one of the better striploins around. The chewy connective tissue isn't as rubbery as elsewhere. One of the reasons I switched from striploin to ribeye was because regular striploins were too chewy for my taste, but QB foods one is very good. Of course ribeye also tastes better because of the fat content, but for 10bucks less I can save a lot of money going with striploins.

I bought some QB food angus ribeye yesterday too(grass fed, grain finished) but haven't tried yet.

Should ask bonkfest for a review too. He bought almost $400 worth of stuff there yesterday

how you cut your meat?
i find that 2 inches is the best for medium rare beef.

anything lesser it'll cook too fast.

400 bucks woah, stocking up for war, huge chiller.

3/4" yesterday, followed Jon and Derrick. But found out it's too thin. I usually go for 1". I don't use a grill so can't go much thicker.

Amir's VP - $7.95 (?) per 500g for both Striploins and Ribeye I think. Tastes like CRAP. Found in NTUC.

NZ Frozen Beef (Will check for the brand again) - $7.25 per 500g for Ribeye and $8.00 per 500g for Striploin (I think they got the pricing reversed...?) Pretty good. Found in Cold Storage & Carrefour.

I only buy more when there is a discount.

Prices vary at different places and the above are just estimates before discounts.

You guys are lucky man... I have only so far tried the crappy beef... Thats the main reason I am sticking to fish and chicken.

all in /100g

Huber's Bukit Timah (hours aren't the greatest. A Saturday morning is always dedicated for a visit there. On the flipside, it is walking distance)

Organic
Ribeye 5.05
Ground 2.99
Stirfry 2.99
Sirloin 5.05
Rump (I forget)
Stewing beef (never paid attention)

One question, if you have all these organic cuts, where's the rest of the cow?

Salt and pepper the night before. Turn up the pan to high heat, get a great sear and it tastes nice. Usually get about 300g/serving, so the steak is about 1" thick.

Ground usually gets made into patties though sometimes may use it as a mince in some chinese dishes.

Most recent marinade for the stirfry was sesame oil, soy and chinese cooking wine.

I should try the QB ribeye, would be a 50% savings, but where the hell would I keep 4kg of meat if I want free delivery. Anyone want to share?

4kg of ribeye is alot.. thats like the entire slab of meat and then some.
2kg of ribeye and my entire chiller is over flowing.

Anyway went down today and bought some more good stuff.

Special offer Angus left tenderloin, wanted 1/2 kg... the girl said cannot =(
So i took 1/2kg of special offer Wagyu striploin =D~~~which cost me about 27 bucks =/

The fat marble looks extremely delish!

Later must go and try, first time eating wagyu.

Anyone tried their angus yet? how does it compare to the normal cows...?

update - Wagyu blew my mind! It simply melts in your mouth...oh man.. i've tasted heaven.
