Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.-Dan John
Re: Dieting for performance.. (CF)
Hi Everyone, just wana share my experience from the CF Diet
Eating for Health = Paleo Diet / Caveman Diet ( Meat + vegetables, Nuts + seeds, some fruits, little starch and NO SUGAR)
Have been on Paleo for 6 months and performing better now that my fats is up and have cut down on most of the starch. My carbs come from mostly veg + fruits or pure oats. Have not taken any supplements other than fish oils, multi vit and Glucosamin for the last 6 months. Bodyfat has been hovering steadily at 10 Percent based on BIA fat analysis.
Eating for performance = MEASURE your paleo portions = ZONE DIET (most of the fire breathers from Crossfit are on zone)
While on Zone, you are only allowed to eat portions that are enough to suuport excercise. Due to well balanced ratio calculated by Dr Barry Sears in terms of Fats, Carb and Protein, overall performance of body increases ie better moods, more energy thru out the day, btr libido, btr performance during workouts.....etc

I don't do the zone, but I think the underlying principles are the same - meat, eggs, nuts vegetables, minimal processed foods, low carb, etc. I do take a lot more protein and fat than Zone recommendations probably.
Re: Dieting for performance.. (CF)
That seems quite similiar to paleo

Re: Dieting for performance.. (CF)
Yeah it is - Paleo, Atkins, Anabolic, Metabolic Diet, whatever. But I probably eat more carbs than allowed in such diets. We are in Singapore after all It's just a set of guidelines. Not really a "XXX Diet". Different people have different needs so there's no 1 size fits all anyway, IMHO.

I find the less carbs the better. Although I'm a sucker for fruit.galapogos wrote:Yeah it is - Paleo, Atkins, Anabolic, Metabolic Diet, whatever.
