I had a quick peek last night, MB is an MSI K8N Neo4 platinum (
http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_sp ... 4_platinum ; CPU - I suspect is a 3200+ - is still mounted on with a zalman HS so don't ask me to take it off, when you power up you'll find out what it is!) and twin corsair something-or-other RAM (I forget, could be 512x2 or 1GBx2).
So you just need a case, PSU for an AMD motherboard, and a hard disk or two w/appropriate cable (IDE or SATA), probably cd/dvd drive too, unless you plan to install the OS off a thumb drive.

I found an old white board that was abandoned from someone's shop renovation, but it needs to be washed though. 3ft x 5ft.
It's yours if you want it, I lugged it up 4 floors via the stairs in case if you wanted it

Casing/hdd + dvdrw was his - so if someone donate a casing, you can get it for $450 for a new comp that can last a few years.

Thanks Steph, the white board is used to write scores and WODs so the bigger the better. Do you have the measurements?

hmm, good point, I think that particular MB didn't have integrated graphics, will have to see if I have a spare GFX card too.
Ubuntu 9.04 is just around the corner, 8.10 ain't too bad, although for servers I'm using 8.04-LTS... if you want XP/Vista, I can't help you there, although I hear there is such a thing as tinyxp.
Let me scrounge around some more on the weekend.
