A STOMPer and her friends were pelted with eggs from the 11th storey while they were chatting at the open-air McDonald's beside Shaw House. Police are currently looking for the 3 suspects caught on security camera.
Here's what the shocked STOMPer had to say:
"On Mar 14, 6 of us went for a drink at the McDonald’s beside Shaw House, after a movie at Lido.
"We bought our drinks, then sat down to chat. We chose the seat nearer to the walkway, without shelter.
"At around 11.30pm, there was a sudden loud bang, and all of us were covered with eggs and egg shells.
"The bulk of the impact fell on one of my friend’s head and the table, causing her giddiness and a bad headache. Many of us had scratches from the shattered egg shells, another friend’s hands even bled due to deep scratches.
"Although we were not badly injured, what would happen if the victims were young kids or the elderly?
"We were utterly traumatized, and downright humiliated. All of our bags were stained and our handphones damaged.
"The police were notified and a investigation was carried out. We also tried combing the area to find the culprit.
"Lots of evidence was found. We found out that the act was carried out from the 11th floor (can you imagine the force of impact from this height and velocity?) of the carpark, directly above where we were seated.
"We found a broken egg at the carpark lot 11-114, 4 empty egg crates (thats 40 eggs!) were found inside the rubbish bin at the 11th floor lift lobby. The eggs were believed to be bought from the nearby Jasons Supermarket.
"I guess the culprit did not realize they were being recorded by surveillance cameras. With the help of the police and building management, we managed to view the recordings taken from the camera at the said lift lobby.
"At approximately 11.30pm (the time we got hit), the video showed 3 guys walking into the lift lobby, hurriedly stuffed the 2 Jasons plastic bags into the bin, and went into the lift.
"They are believed to be the main suspects of this incident. The police will be taking this incident as a case of mischief and high-rise killer litter.
"Some of us actually remember seeing the guys amongst the crowd when it happened. To think that they had the audacity to be there mocking us, made us real mad.
"We were told by the building management that this was not the first time it had happened. It seems to happen on Saturdays.
"We were quite appalled that it had happened so many times, and yet no action had been taken. Would action be taken only when someone has been seriously hurt?
"Nevertheless, we were thankful for the prompt action and fast response from the police and building management that day. Evidence has been brought back for further investigation. We hope to have justice and closure soon."
