This is a damn old forum(about 2004/05) and the very first local forum i ever sought advice from. Was about 15 that time, people were more into bodybuilding.Strongman and powerlifting enthusiasts were very little those days. The only people doing this sort of stuff that time were Jonathan, Herman and Jon Wong. And lets say that their knowledge back then was nothing compared to now.
Man, lets just say that sieving thru information during those times were not an easy thing to do
People dont give you good advice like interval workouts, anabolic diet or what not. They tell you to do low fat diet, steady state cardio and bodypart split.
Actually, most of my training methodology started to change with the presence of our famous Kiwi.

Indeed. You are definitely having it easier than the guys who trained without the internet age.

Trust me the scene here has changed a lot.Strength and conditioning work in like 2005 was almost non-existent, no one knows what the hell was activation and SMFR(foam rolling) and all those stuff. It was more bbing back then. You say crossfit during those times, people will give you a blank stare.
No one knows shit about posture what the heck does scapular winging, glutes inhibited, tight hamstring all those meant.
Thus some people should really not take it for granted when they receive great advice here.Very holistic aproach.

Specific to singapore, I can't say, it's never been a very sports oriented country anyway, even today.
But in Australia, 20+ years ago, I do remember doing weights for rowing (my first intro), it was squats, cleans etc, not BB'ing type movements. Perhaps nowadays there is more scientific evidence (double edged sword) to assist in separating the wheat from the chaff.

I remembered training with fishbuff back then, he squatted 4 plates a side at bishan clubfitt(people looked). He taught me how to train for strength but of course i refined those methods much later on when OPT came in and all that.
OPT actually did quite a bit of good work here but he negated it by swindling people of their money. So its back to square one.

How is it back to square one? We didn't suddenly unlearn everything we learned just because he owes us money right?

What i meant was that he could've established a reputable training centre and name here but he took it away by doing that.
