So many departments/divisions/units, its like asking how is army like.
Each unit has its own set of responsibilities and each division has its own set of challenges and each department its own sets of problems.

So it depends on where you're posted to - your buddies may be great but your boss is a dick etc.
You may like it or may not like it, but if you don't enjoy working on public holidays/shift work and sudden recall manning or extra work days without due compensation then any uniform group job is not for you.

I walk on foot quite a lot(3-4 hours a day) and i pass by poor or rowdy neighbourhood areas near town such as crawford, lavender area.

Those older or not so well to do relative to other areas.

Why do you walk so much

Good for execise, can use up some calories, and can know the roads very well.

mata is not a good choice

i woldn't recommend the SPF... I was an SPF scholar once.. Until I saw what a job they are doing.

well said ! ! i was a regular for 6yrs (91-97) ... compare to those days , now the 12 hrs shift is terrible ... and hor STOMP got more power then Mata le

If im not wrong the NPC is usually where u first get posted to, unless u're opting for traffic police. Yea anyone who has done the 3 shifts thing confirm prefer that than the stupid 12hrs shift now. Briefings suckass. Dont think about have your own free time even if you're on leave cuz u might be subjected to being recalled if your team has too low manpower from MCkings. Every month, there'll be one off day burnt for inservice where they try to refresh you with the happenings nowadays.

Depending on where you're posted to, u might have to clock ops, do hotel duty, parliament duty, whatever fucking duty u can think of. Wanna go police, just hope u get it for ns and enjoy that 2 years of experience. Wanna sign on, like what ben said, sign on as an officer. Fewer saikang.

I only have two questions for you. Are you comfortable with Malays? Can you handle Malays? You should know what to do according to your answers.
