All the best. Don't get injured.
If you aren't planning to downgrade, better get used to running in boots, otherwise it'll be shin splints galore.
And bring lots of powder (medicated or just plain talc; the army issued/e-mart ones are pretty good too), I don't know if you guys still do 16-24km road marches, but I've seen some really bad sweat rashes on my buddies in my time; one guy had major thigh chafing, DNF'd and suffered the next few days.

dont they just tahan the abrasions all the way till the end? seems everyone does, then just walks around like a duck for the next few days

Just buy swimming tights can liao helps a lot. Even last time when I had skinny legs also kena abrasion one. People who squat no need to say.
