Anybody interested?
http://arnoldkettlebellcomp.blogspot.com/
If yes, we'll have our own comp held locally.
Proposed events:
Men's:
2 Arm Jerk
1 Arm Snatch
2 Arm Long Cycle
Women's:
1 Arm Jerk
1 Arm Snatch
Other events, please specify:
-duration (minimum 10 minutes)
-weight (minimum 16kg men, 8kg women)
-no of hand switches (one or unlimited)
-putting down of the bell (none or unlimited)
1 Arm Long Cycle
2 Arm Long Cycle
1 Arm Jerk
2 Arm Jerk
1 Arm Snatch
1 Arm Press
2 Arm Press
1 Arm Long Cycle Press
2 Arm Long Cycle Press
1 Arm Chair Press
2 Arm Chair Press
Men's Weight Categories (in kg): <55, <60, <65, <70, <75, <80, <85, <90, 90+
Women's Weight Categories (in kg): <50, <55, <60, <65, <70, <75, 75+
Men's Kettlebell Weights (in kg): 16, 20, 24, 28, 32.
Women's Kettlebell Weights (in kg): 8, 12, 16
AKC/WKC recently has introduced some new rules which ban:
-extra swing in the Snatch,
-rest in hang in Snatch and Long Cycle
-no resting on the belt
But to promote the sport and encourage participation, i think we just stick to acceptable norms:
-extra swing is ok but not counted
-rest in hang is allowed in Snatch and Long Cycle
-belt or no belt up to you
-rest on the shoulder in Jerk is ok but no Jerk from the shoulder

Bo pian lah. If i compete against Jen i die liao. I am underweight by >40kg.
Anyway this is just for fun and promotion of the sport. Doesn't matter if there is only one competitor in your weight class. Break your own records, have fun, get together. That's it.

That's funny. Since it is "freestyle" he could have backstroke and win the event.
If you are the only competitor, you can win the event by doing ONE repetition.

Add in the SSST
Thats a fun one.
My advice is to stick to single kb lifts to start with
For novice lifter you will find large variation in tehcnique between left and right hands
Having a bell in each hand will exagerate this
Also you only need one bell to practice with.
Something to think about
