jordan you and aaron went to eat some 煮炒, the total bill is $$30 cos jordan and aaron eat too much.

so each person pay $10 la. the the cashier realised that you all should pay five dollars lesser. the he pass 5 dollars to the one of his worker to give you all

since you all dont know the actual price, he give a dollar to each of you all and keep two for himself

that means that each of you has paid $9, total, $27 and the waiter kept $2 =27+2=29.

where the other dollar go

what the is going on here??!??!

clue: try to get into this eqn

4^(x/3)+3^(x/2)=10^2

x is the number of hours passed. solve for x
you gave away the answer... but
x ≈ 7.62

i think everyone has seen the answer somewhere...

place a ball (with diameter slightly greater than the hole of the ring) on top of the ring. what happens when you heat the ring?

Then it's 58 if you mean it's filled to the brim at the end of 60 instead of at the start of the 60th min

60:59:99 is the end of the 61st min... :P just as 0:01 is the first second of the first minute

uh, yea, my mistake...

but... just to get the last word in:

if it takes an hour to fill an object, then it should be done at 60:00:00, not 59:00:01 (beginning of the 60th) right?

i'm a last min man, I need that last min to get it done.

eh.. i have no idea what u all debating about

but just work backwards la
it takes an hour to fill the jar to the brim
an hour=60min(3600 sec)

so 60 min(3600 sec) is needed for it to filled to the brim
59min(3540 sec) for it to be half filled
58 min(3480 sec) is needed to fill it to quater of it.

many of you have probably done this one:

a) we are given 80 coins of the same denomination; we know that one of them i counterfeit and that it is lighter than the others. locate the counterfeit coin by using four weighings on a pan balance.

b) it is known that there is one counterfeit coin in a collection of n similar coins. what is the least number of weight trials necessary to identify the counterfeit? (assume the counterfeit is lighter)
