The day the world stood still...for 1 second

Post by Weib »

Went with GF to Turf city for dinner with her friends..walking up the road, took a unsuspecting step down a kerb.
I twisted my ankle..pain was bad that i sat down, could feel the adrenaline and seratonin rushing to my head slightly.

When i got up - thinking i was fine, i walked a few paces as i was walking i felt the pain shooting up through my temples.
I blacked out for 1 second.. and feel on the road.. lucky my gf was there with a guard to help me up.. where i had cold sweat and palpation.
Crazy shit! But now i know how it feels to faint..hehe
Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.-Dan John

I've sprained my ankle twice, badly; once whilst water skiing, and once whilst playing mixed netball. Both times the ankle swelled up to twice the size, so I iced it, taped it up, and a few days later it was ok (although I ended up taping up the ankle for the rest of the season; a lot more painful than you think, when tearing off the tape...).

I have no idea how bad your ankle is, but if it's just a kerb mistep, can't be as bad as that. Hope it gets better soon...

Speaking of ankle injuries, last Friday I was playing a game of basketball and had a badly aligned jump where my right foot landed at an angle on the pavement. Pain shot through the foot for a good half a minute before it subsided. Currently it's fine but I ended up walking awkwardly for the rest of that day.

Hope you recover soon. I have very weak ankles and always trip for no realm or reasons so I can empathize how you feel.
