We do not play sports for a living, we get adapted to the circuit like exercise regime but that doesn't translate to performance on the field/court or in the pool.
Oh really, how do you justify that?
Weib wrote:It will account for nothing, if you the best timings in a circuit but there is little or no performance benefit in the sport.
One of the few sensible things you have ever said.
Now go and ask the Navy Seals the impact its had on their training, or the USMC Sniper School, or the Jacksonville Sheriffs Department in Florida, or the Canadian Armed Forces, or Erin Canfaro (Beijing US Womens Rowing Team), or Kelly More (first female US Master of Sport awards for Girevoy sport).......
Don't take my recommendation, take theirs.

Metabolic conditioning and strength endurance is a very very small part of the bigger program, compared to power/strength and movement/speed.
Don't put all your eggs into one basket without having to try out with people who do play sports, but don't be afraid to keep evolve and changing.

In your desire to make a point about crossfit, you merely prove to us all that you cannot even be bothered to read.
Notice how I never say that crossfit is better than anything Boyle and co are doing? Its because i cannot see the magnitude of the adaptation, nor the rate of adaptation, nor the injury rate and therefore have no way of making a justifiable comparison. So I refrain from doing so.
Its called evidence based fitness and you really ought to study it rather than reply on 'opinion'
