On Fitness idealogies

Post by alex »

I noticed that in many of the arguments here regarding applying XXX/YYY method to athletes. Most of you guys overlooked a few aspects.

Most seem to go on about the Strength and Conditioning aspect only. And how after incorporating XXX that they saw results.

However, they could have also made changes to other aspects of their game.

Possibly

1)Diet.
2)Maybe they had also hired a better coach for the game itself.
3)Better gameplans this time round.
4)Fixed some injuries
5)More mental strength
6)Some have become more seasoned/experience.This can give an edge over fitter opponents.
7)This time round, the opponents may be of a lower standard.

Not to say that S&C is not important. But, not everything is wholely or largely attributed to it.

Be ready for bombardment.
Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.-Dan John

There are countless aspects of how to improve oneself as an athlete in the sport that one participates in. A whole spectrum of them.

In terms of games and martial arts, experience counts for a lot. But that does not mean that game fitness is not important. It is of utmost importance. Anyone involved in martial arts would know that. Anyone involved in competitve rugby would know that. Heck, the whole world knows that. Unless, ur sport is dart throwing.

I know nuts about dart throwing. I just catch it on ESPN at times... And the athletes always have pot bellies.. and beer by their side.

The mental side is the most important.

Traditional values such as discipline, dedication, determination, hard work and self confidence are still the most important.

You have your mental side+some basic knowledge of training, everything else will fall into place.

A surplus of strength in one area can sometimes make up for a deficiency in the other, I.E. Excellent strength enabling you to complete a lift with less than okay technique.

You have the strongest mental strength after relentlessly asking people to join you for training.

I'm sure you will be placed better this year. :shhh:

I am not interested in any of your training session. :yawinkle:

Try having date with

Then you 2 can :axe: or :ANAL: ? Having strong mental strength should be able to overcome that barrier.

Jerry,does it still matter?

Since the organization which awards it is gone for good.

Anyway,if you're an employer, would you think highly of a degree awarded by a university which closed down under very dubious conditions?

What are you working as now?
Squats can only strengthen, tear or break something. Strengthening, tearing and breaking is totally awesome. Thus squats are awesome.

AFAIK,
First batch all took the test, of which KC, Alicia, Ben, Jorand were in it. Only KC and Alicia passed.
2nd batch didn't take the test, of which Xian, Sam were in it.
Kevin/Keith/Louis's batch I don't think took the test.
The other batches not too sure. I think I saw Bert taking the theory test though, but no practical?

idle curiosity

nothing more

besides, if i ran a gym, i'd only employ CF guys with a background in O lifting and/or gymnastics ;-)

no wonder one can screw people up in training. taking credit 30-40% when something is done (not even done properly) and no % in taking blame when injury occurs.
