John Welbourn talks about the CrossFit Football Certification that is going to be making headway to the people within the next few months. Some of the backers of this program include Tony Gonzalez of the Kansas City Chiefs....hold on folks we are just at the tip of the iceberg!!!!

I have no idea where this is all going, but I'm sure we shall all see the data in a few years.

Tony Gonzalez has always (since his days at cali) been one of the most athletic TE in the game...
would he actually be willing to post his data?

he is getting old, for a pro-football player, so if his numbers showed the signs of aging, it may be bad for contract negotiations...

i'm guessing he will actually post better numbers in 2009-10, since he doesn't have the misfortune of playing for one of the worst coaches in the league.
(that doesn't say much about the effectiveness of the training system though... if his number doesn't get called, he won't get any yards, even if he's faster and stronger than 2008)

I have no idea how this will play out.

From the running and endurance certs, that was built on the back of about 2yrs worth of data that suggested cf.com WOD + stamina type training later in the day delivered better results than just sports specific endurance training itself.

I'm curious as to how this plays out for football and how they measure results as there a lot more variable involved in winning a football game

no matter how they present their data, it will be met with a lot of criticism and argument on it's validity......

even if all 53 guys train using CF (and other teams' guys don't) and they go 19-0... some people will still argue.
