I am not prejudiced or biased, but after working for Japanese company for a year, I am amazed how many people got marked down for being not early enough. Example: Official time to start work is 8.30am. Boss there at 8.15am. Anyone who arrives at 8.20 am would be given a talk on how they can be more committed to the job!

So this week, we have training at 8:30. I work at a firm with professionals, but come 8:30, I sit alone with the facilitator, as sure as the sun rises in the east. Without fail, this happens all 3 days. My wife's sense of time drives me crazy sometimes too
