strongman finals : a chance to showcase sportsmanship

Post by Sufian »

Rizal today highlighted me an issue...

CAn some senior guys from Team Iron Behemoth please listen, and correct me if something or some information is wrong.

Rizal said that the NGee Ann tertiary team, which consists of mostly team behemoth junior, after realising that one of them is from SgTitans, kicked him out of the team. Just because of that. Of course I have no way to investigate the truth in this, but to Ben, KC and Jen, please help me to investigate this matter.

IF this is true, and the poor sod was kicked out just because he's from SgTitans, then can u guys please knock some sense into these juniors of yours. This is a chance to show true sportsmanship and unity in diversity. Don't let them carry on being idiots in the sporting world.

If this is untrue, my deepest apologies.

Sorry to say this, but I am deeply affected by these kind of displays of apparent lack of sportmanship in the minds of our young. Lets all hope that sportsmanship shall prevail.

This is absolutely absurd.

Moreover it is representation FOR Ngee Ann Poly, they had no right to do that.

I sure hope that this allegation is untrue.

This would be ridiculous if true. I would personally have a word with these idiots at the finals if I know who they are.

Even, different clubs/training camps come together to represent the country on an international scale.I have seen it on soccer and mixed martial arts(mma).

My feeling is that maybe they want to represent teamironbehemoths solely on the tertiary level and that that guy is hindering it.

I dont wanna comment too much though, neutral is sometimes best.

that is a lousy excuse if that is what they use. The whole competition is bigger than the two camps.

I shall reserve my comment

But i must say, i dont condone their actions if its true.

However, lets not blow it all out of proportion yet as the truth has not be verified.

OK I got the word from Sam.

Sam has cleared it out. I offer my sincerest apologies to TEam Behemoth.

Firstly, the tertiary competition has got nothing to do with Team Behemoths. Yes, it is good to have the junior behemoths in, and also the sgtitans' boys in. That is all the association. Both teams trying to get more particapation across the younger community. Its perfectly agreeable that more participation is better for both.

Secondly, the mentioned team is wrong. Its not Ngee Ann team, its SP team.

Thirdly, whatever these boys in the team are doing, it is definitely not with the knowledge of Team Behemoth. The only thing that Sam wanted was to have Luke participate as a member of the 4-man team. Who the others are, Team Behemoth don't even know. Only names, no picture. Thus, whatever decision is made by the SP team, it is Team SP's decision. Not Junior Behemoth.

It is heartening to know that Sam has the general intention to unite the stongman community. I know bloody well that Rizal has the same intentions too.

Lets let sportsmanship prevail. Especially in the face of competition.

Update: the SgTitan's boy is back in the SP team.

It is great that the misunderstanding has been cleared.

Even though it may seem that there is some form of rivalry between the two training crews,I would like to put on record that this rivalry is anything but hostile. On the contrary, it is respectful and cordial. Indeed, we respect the Titans both individually and collectively as a group.

I personally enjoyed training alongside the Titans at CDANS. Whilst training together,I also had the chance to exchange some friendly banter with them. Furthermore,Sam has previously mentioned to me what great guys Rizal,Sulaiman, and Terence were when he had the opportunity to train with them at CDANS. He is also delighted there would be future tie ins between the two groups. Together we hope that we can work collectively to promote the wonderful sport of strongman in Singapore.

yes, my bad..i got the team wrong..it is sp not ngee ann...

It is great that this matter have been resolve...

for further clarification, we should let the younger boys to speak up here and settle their problem among themselves, big boys please stay away unless things get out of hand . otherwise, please do not intervene

anyway there is never a rivalry from SgTitans, and i am sure none from Team Behemoth too.

We should strive to have healthy competition with each other with the Olympism spirit guiding us.

Lets learn something from this espisode.

It is my dream and i am sure sufian's dream too to see that there will be 5 clubs who advocate Crossfit training and strongman traning in singapore.

North: SgTitans
South: Team Behemoth
Central: Team 300
East: Anyone willing to open?
West: Anyone willing to open?

east side used to have SWF.

Dear Rizal and the rest of the Titans,

Sam and I have already gone up to your place to train and we appreciate the Titans' hospitality and friendship. So once again,we extend our invitation to you and the rest of the Titans to come down to our place to train. Training together can never be something bad.
