Well, I have nothing to lose either, and this thursday I'm slated to do high rep pullups, so I'll do first set as max reps dead hang (I don't kick except during 300 prescribed kipping pullups), then Kevin can teach me to kip. Porbably about 25-30+, depending on how my grip/elbows go.

However, not sure how to fit this with the low rep pullups (since I can't kip with weights on my feet). Any suggestions? Or only kip during high rep workouts (which is 3 times every 4 weeks, excluding 300).

Good comments, Jerry.

My two cents:
1) on the burpees, please jump up. I think Jerry has already highlighted with some pictures. My mental image of this is that I have to jump up and reach for something, not just jump for the sake of getting some air under my feet. I don't necessarily like Louis' one arm reach (especially since he seemed to only do it on one side all the time), but you have to give him credit for the jump.

I know everybody's form will worsen as the rounds progress, but do try at least in the first few rounds to do it well. We saw this bad form in the first metcon ninja video too.

2) on the burpees, and I think Louis did this the worst, please do not turn it into a dynamic upward dog (i.e. pushup but with your hip completely still down). We would not condone this if training someone else.

Perhaps next workout we need a pushup movement to drill this in... both for the men and women.

3) I think Jerry's nitpicking on Bryan's thrusters, for most of the time when I was checking, he was going pretty deep (talk about knee over foot!). And Weixian''s a pretty tall guy, I wouldn't call that a half squat, more like 3/4. And we know how many articles have been written about tall folks and full ATG squats.

Keep in mind, I had the most footage to work with from the first round, 2nd not very much, and 3rd round a bit more than 2nd (with Louis taking the bulk of 3rd as it was only Peter and Adeline in that round too); you can tell by how much footage is in the final video (4+mins from 1st round, then 2nd+3rd constitute last 4+mins).

So you, weixian and Justine were over-exposed... pun intended.

Haven't watched the video, but I know I'm guilty of incomplete hip extension during the burpees as well. However, it's a big improvement as I know for a fact I got a lot more "air" than I did the last time round I did met-con ninja. Pretty sure burpees was my only problem this time round though. I'm pretty confident of my thruster/pullup form.

From memory I think your first few thrusters were shaky, then the rest were pretty solid.

For me i guess the burpees were the worse, didnt use to think it was this hard. Head felt so light but still didnt have the strength to jump anymore. I was on the brink of death.

Oh and thanks jerry for pointing out. Is there any specific program you use for editing? seems like it's just MSpaint to me.

Your kip is pretty strong already don't you agree. Just have to tweak it a tiny bit to get that max kip pull up. You ish a climber remember?

Guys,

Its not criticism

Just think of them as areas to improve on.

Its better you learn the correct movenent now and go slower, rather than think your good, and then when someone makes you do full reps, you just fall apart.

If your just learning the movement, then don't expect to be great at them. No one plays the piano well after a few lessons.....

Next time you do a 300, have someone demonstrate the standard for the correct rep.

Then everyone should do it as part of the warm up to cement the mechanics of the movement first.

Then during the WOD, have the guys waiting count your reps and only correct reps will count towards your time.

That way the guy doing the exercise gets the full benefit, and the guy/gal counting the reps will develop their 'coaches eye' and start to develop a decent understanding of whats going on.

You don't need to be certified by Peter the Thief or Greg Glassman to see if someone has locked out the arms and opened the hips at the top of the thruster. Just agree the standard and count the reps accordingly.

When one teaches, then two learn.....

Bryan,

"i juz wanna feel it in my muscles for every rep tts why i kept a tension in there.... but tts for bbing way not crossfit...so i need to constantly change my mindset..."

This is wrong. People do half reps for one reason only. They are MUCH EASIER than full reps.

Go back and do the same workout on your own.

Really focus on doing full reps

Your time will be much slower and I guarantee you will feel much more tired than doing half assed reps

If TUT is your goal, then go and do some super slow reps.

you're talking about a guy who does 36 bw on a low calorie and low carb diet.
imagine you give him 200grams of sweet potatoe and allow him to go back to maintenance level.

so it depends.
