throughout my time in JC, I worked as a guitar sessionist at Hard Rock Cafe. Throughout my time in NUS, I worked part time doing delivery for the fast food restaurants (canadian pizza, McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut). And throughout all these times, I still gave tuition whenever I can sneak in a few hours of free time here and there. Other than that it is all study and sports. I was a sporty nerd.

There were times in NUS that I had to deliver the pizzas to NUS, to the Forum. Well, I was a year 3 that time, and the ones who ordered were my intake students, who were there for a Malay committee meeting or something like that. Imagine all of them ( about 40 plus of them), looking at me trying hard to balance 7 large pizzas to bring to them. They recognised me, and some of them started sniggering and taunting me. Saying things like how come NUS student need to do this? Cannot do other things? Well, my answer to them, I can still remember to this day is, "Unlike u people, I stopped taking pocket money from my parents eversince I turned 17. And, even if i do, I would not be spending money on pizza. I would rather eat prata with egg, only $1.10. So that the rest of the money I can save to pay off the school bills and hp bills."

Thus, until this day, u will never see me talk shit about low piad jobs and stuffs. I have tried them all before. I was part timing as a cleaner for a semi con factory for a month when I was in Sec 4, albeit during the schoolholidays. I know how it feels like to be paid $3 per hour, in which every hour is a tiring one. That is why, I would like to tell the boys who are having it good right now, with the parents being so supportive financially, and with maids in tow to clean up for u, start thinking about being independent. Or at least, start caring where the hard-earned money that your parents make are being blown to.

Gee,my lowest paid job was $3.50 as office boy.

Anyway,that is great advice for the boys who have maids in tow to clean up for them,but whether they listen to it is another matter altogether.

My cooking skills still suck though, but the only cooking apparatus i have at home is a microwave(unhealthy if used for every meal), toaster oven and a spoilt baking oven.

I can only cook simple things like

2 slices thick gardenia bread, butter both sides of each bread.

Put one piece of ham on each slice of bread.Put cheese inbetween the slices of ham and Put cheese on top of the sandwich.

When done toasting the sandwich, add whatever vegetables you fancy and whatever sauce.

The other one is

Microwaved scrambled eggs(Once in a while)

2 eggs beaten in a casserole pot,(whatever the hell its called),salt to taste, mix in milk, cover the lid and microwave on medium high for 2 mins.Once done, stir thru the egg and 'scramble' it.Then sprinkle some pepper.Can add in shredded cheese to the cooking process if you want.

I always have a good life even though my family is not well to do. I have a very nice father who provide for the family.

First job is $4/hr at coffeebean but i worked only for 4 days because i'm not sociable enough for the job.

Then no work till JC finishes. Flunk.

Worked 3 months, $7/HR, OT $10.50/hr/sat $14/hr/sun.

Went Poly.

Started part time as HP promoter, $7/hr.
Started personal training.
Started salon with 1 of my client.
Started my full time job.

I once worked as a flyer distributor for a scammer in Sim Lim square during Expo 2005. $15 for the whole day(11hrs). those from HP and the other companies were earning $6/hr.

Another time, I worked as a block flyer distrubutor for a tuition centre. $10 per 3 block or something. I took 3-4 hrs to earn this $10.

i got friends who ORD couple of months already still cant get job. too many "conditions"

Its never been an issue of how well off your family is (its always your family, its never you, at our age at least) , but how you spend your money and how you view and appreciate it.

But i don't really blame the kids for spending and thinking the way they do sometimes, from young parents spoil them so it has become the norm for them. Kind of an environment and upbringing thing.

i rmb once i had a rich kid back in sec school, stayed 6th avenue. Was a bubbly guy but i got a huge shock when i heard he nvr eat at hawker centre b4.nth to do with him not wanting to eat at one, just nvr happened. lol, after joining us at one one day he exclaimed how much he liked hokkein mee

For me i always try and just get a different job each time,experience smth new.done some really weird jobs last time.
