yo guys, my fren's getting me an Iphone in U.S... not the latest version but the normal 3G version..But do u knw hw to crack it so i could use it in S'pore?? i knw nothing abt such things...anyone out there knw??

3G shouldn't require cracking, since it is actually sold in both countries and up until recently (other than HK to the best of my knowledge) only available tied to a new contract/renewal. You will only need the jailbreak if you plan on running non-approved 3rd party apps.

For my money though, I'd get the 3G S right now if I didn't already have the 3G...

AFAIK, u just need to activate it to use it here. duno where that can be done but i reckon apple website can do it. as for jailbreaking, u need to have the firmware files of the iphone, (i think diff models dont matter, safer to check online 1st, newest is 2.2.1 iirc). then go jailbreak with quickpwn or yellowsn0w. wait i go find my history ah i post again later.

as for the unlock, i googled and so far from what ive seen it cant be unlocked, but i really groggy right now so i could be wrong, go ahead and do more research, glad to help.
