Swallowing Glass / Porcelain

To keep a long story short, a tiny piece of glass or porcelain flew into my mouth last Saturday morning in the wee hours (4+am). Went to the A&E and doctors said there was nothing stuck in my throat, so it has probably gone into my stomach (but then I have my doubts about local doctors...). Question: Is there a cause for concern? Can the fragment be digested?
