Post by Jordon »

hi guys, me and aaron and some others are pretty interested on the *beep* test. i and aaron have daringly decided we try it on 16nov morning, before dota. so that if i get owned, i can have some excuse.

anyone up for it? probably need sufian to come since he has the tape :D

I think I can make it, should be interesting considering I've had only 3-4 real workouts in the last 3 weeks!

Hope you guys are serious about doing this, you need to give it your all if you want it to be a proper benchmark.

[edit] hmm, thought it was saturday... sunday morning I am usually at Yoga (9.30am), which I'd rather not miss. Unless your beep test is at 8am?

I can conduct it, but I am not doing it. I have other plans for my last few days of bulking.

For those who are doing it, no training whatsoever 24 hours before. No weights, no cardio, no HIIT, nothing.

Please hydrate yourself the day and night before. And, please train on your turns.

You can choose whether to do it on a court, on the track, or on the field. Whatever is chosen, please wear proper fitting shoes, correct for the surface. Lots of turning and running involved. No injuries please.

BTW, I can mail you the wma copy of the beep test. Write down your email address if interested. Then someone can burn and we can play it on a radio. BTW, anyone has a good radio?

bleep then yoga, sounds like plan! LOL
Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.-Dan John

Suffian, just out of curiosity, what is the difference for benchmarks, between doing a 2.4km and doing the beep test? I would have thought both would be highly correlated?

Obviously the actual measurements would be different (i.e. 2.4km is on time, beep test is on the "level" you reach)...

2.4km finishes pretty quickly whereas for beep, it's more like dying a slow death.. like poison

2.4km runs, for most people is start up fast, then due to fatigue, speed drops...

beep test starts from slow.... Then gets faster and faster. And, u couldn't actually stop running... The higher the level, the more shuttles there are.. at least till level 13(as far as I remember)

I'm out. I had a dismal workout this morning, so I still have subclinical flu leftovers... :(
