dealing with food at social events

Post by cheat_curls »

When attending a social event (eg: a birthday party, work function, school gathering) and they serve the usual food (carbonated drinks, snack food, and fast food for meal) and you are supposed to be on a diet, what would you do? In my case, i'm on moderate carbs (max 100g per day, but getting about 50-60g these days) and i generally only consume the carbs for breakfast and for PWO

Option A: Ignore the food offered at the event, bring your own food so that you adhere to your diet

Option B: Eat some of the food offered, but show restraint and try not to exceed your caloric target (and perhaps count as a cheat meal)

Option C: Let loose and eat your hearts content with no regard for your diet protocols, and count it as a cheat meal.

how about eating before the event, then also bringing a handful of nuts or something.

Option D: pick and choose what food you want, and dissect away the crappy batter etc as necessary. Then stuff your face with tiramisu and say that's your carbs :P

When you get to my age, people nod approvingly when they see how healthy you are trying to eat, and exclaim how they wish they were as disciplined. Helps that I have a 30" waist compared to their 40".

30 inch waist for a guy is pretty small... at least it sounds small to me.

option D sounds most reasonable, but i suspect the dinner will be pizza, can't really pick any good bits off there, unless its meatlovers or has chicken topping.

I had a 27" waist when I was doing triathlons (@~60kg weight). Considering I have a big butt, I could never find any jeans to fit properly, settled on 501's with 28" waist, 30" length (yes, you can get your waist size and length in the USA).

Can't fit into them anymore, of course :P

30" at 70kg ain't too bad, I guess, just need to learn some posing skills from Bryan

back to the topic at hand, pizza isn't too bad, if it's good pizza (i.e. thin crust, not Chicago style thick base with extra cheese).

if u are on a diet, then just keep on dieting. Bring your own food. Just be there to enjoy company of friends.

If not on a strict diet, then enjoy yourself. Treat it as a cheat day. Then go strict for the next 5 days or so.

If u are somewhere in between... then I dont know. I have never been in between.

my waist is a little under 34", but looks terrible, if i ever get lean i think it might drop to the high 20's

My diet is not that serious atm, as i don't discriminate between clean and dirty carbs (though a binge on shit food won't do me any favours). Perhaps i'll just bring my own shit to eat and act all high and mighty and state that i refuse to eat their filth

Pizza is one of my favoured cheat meals, so avoiding it should make a nice mental challenge and prepare me for when i get more strict with diet

34 to high 20? assuming 29, that's a very small waist.

I did it once in NS. from 33.5" to 27" with the help of clenbutrx liquid, allan (from nfft) smuggle it in for me that time.

Ultra beach body that time la. aha
